Nueropsychological status of children freuquently having respiratory deseases
Abstract
The focus of the research is the level of higher mental functions maturing of children frequently having respiratory diseases and its comparison with the data obtained in the group of the healthy peers. The attempt of defining of mechanisms, forming the basis of functional insufficiency, underdevelopment of certain HMF, has been made. Because of the bed rest, children, frequently having respiratory diseases, are restricted in interaction with their peers and in active participation in everyday life; they are in a sort of isolation, and that prevents from normal mental growth and mental functions development. There is also a connection between brain structures and physiological processes maturing and characteristics of life and upbringing of the child, i.e. social situation of development. The research method was the battery of neuropsychological tests adapted to the child age, allowing to studying the underdeveloped function on several levels of its organization: cerebral, psycho-physiological, psychological, and also to establish topic and differential diagnosis and to outline the ways of intervention.
