This review considers a new monograph entitled The History of the French Revolution: Paths of Learning by A. V. Tchoudinov, Dr. Hab. (History), chief researcher of the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of the laboratory “The World in the Epoch of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars” of the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The review focuses on the analysis of the main stages in the development of Russian and foreign historiography of the French Revolution for the past 150 years, undertaken by the author of the monograph, from the studies of the “Russian school” and its leader V. I. Guerrier to the latest projects under the leadership of A.V. Tchoudinov.
