In a few years, Colombia has changed from being a sending country of international immigrants to becoming a receiving one, particularly due to mixed migratory flows coming from Venezuela. This situation has brought new economic, political and social challenges that need to be addressed from various disciplines, including the law. This article deals with one of the most visible and urgent challenges that are facing Colombian society: comprehensive health care for immigrants in an irregular administrative situation. The research starts from the premise that immigrants own some rights that are inherent, inalienable, and from which they cannot be deprived, regardless of where them are. However, in the Colombian legal system there is no such provision, so it is necessary to review the regulations of other countries that do, such as Spain and Chile. Although some measures have been taken to facilitate the access to health of irregular immigrants, the emerging migration policies in Colombia force to articulate some transitory strategies in the meantime.
