Sehingga, diperoleh kesimpulan mayoritas peserta didik memiliki kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang sedang sehingga belum memenuhi indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. There are still many students who have difficulty understanding mathematical concepts in linear equation in two variables (LETV). Therefore, this study aims to describe the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students at the junior high school level of class VIII. The research subjects were selected by class VIII students at one junior high school in Subang district as many as 30 students. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique was in the form of a description of five questions, then analyzed and described according to their ability to categorize students (medium, low and high categories). The research data were then analyzed using the mean and standard deviation test. The results showed that 4 students were in the high category with a percentage of 13.34%, 19 students were in the medium category with a percentage of 63.33%, and 7 students were in the low category with a percentage of 23.33%. So, the conclusion is the majority of students have moderate ability to understand mathematical concepts so they do not meet the indicators of ability to understand mathematical concepts.
