This article offers information from the Archivo General de la Nación in Mexico City about the circulation of La Celestina by Fernando de Rojas in the 16th and 17th centuries. Among the most significant findings are censorship's mechanisms of this work that predate its appearance in the lists of prohibited books by the Spanish Inquisition. On the other hand, possible documentary references appeared to a non-conserved edition of La Celestina in 1631 that had been mentioned by the experts previously. The present article has been proposed to reconstruct an early biography of the work in its circulation in the Viceroyalty of New Spain and the only references for its circulation in New Mexico that is currently a part of the United States.
