Abstract
In the analysis of the testimony of elderly men and women, descendants of immigrants of italian ethnicity, about their life, matrimonial and familial stories, concepts such as “familial mythical mandate” and “symbolic power” allow us to distinguish between reality and the discourses marked by the colective imaginary.
