The article analyzes the impact of humanitarian demining in the municipality of Sabana de Torres, one of the first territories in the Department of Santander to be declared free of suspected antipersonnel mines. For this purpose, a documentary analysis was conducted, identifying the technical procedures of humanitarian demining, the background of the locality, the Municipal Competitiveness Index of the locality, crime statistics in the period from 2014 to 2019, and complementary measures such as land restitution and productive projects necessary in the post-conflict scenario. The changes, results, and scope of the process were identified, highlighting the importance of the development of humanitarian demining as a mechanism for territorial recovery and mitigation of the multidimensional affectations given by these artifacts, ensuring the habitability and productivity of the lands in conjunction with comprehensive policies of the regional and local order for social reconstruction.
