INSIGNIA OF A DESIRED KINGDOM.
Abstract
The Armorial Movement arose in Pernambuco (1970) with the objective of creating an erudite art based on the popular fades of Brazilian culture. The writer Ariano Suassuna, as well as the founder of the Armorial Movement, left an important literary work in the form of a novel D'A PEDRA DO REINO and the PRINCE OF THE BLOOD OF THE VAI-E-VOLTA, Brazilian armorial-popular novel. Through the approach of this novel we present here reflections on some armorial symbols and their references to popular culture, medieval cosmology and the victory of what armorialies call authentic and national culture related to the utopia of a Desired Kingdom.
