Salicylhydroxamic acid is a novel flotation reagent, this paper studied O3 oxidation treatment of salicylhydroxamic acid in simulated flotation wastewater.Meanwhile, the possible degradation pathway of salicylichydroxamic acid was deduced through ultraviolet spectrophotometry, infrared spectrum and high performance liquid chromatography. The experimental results showed that the removal efficiency of salicylichydroxamic acid treated by O3 oxidation was obviously. When initial concentration of salicylhydroxamic was 50 mg/L,pH value was 8,ozone concentration was 1.3 mg/L and reaction time was 15min,the removal rate was greater than 90%,but the mineralization rate was just 19.99%.Through the analysis of intermediates, the degradation pathway of salicylhydroxamic acid was preliminarily concluded as:salicylhydroxamic acid → salicylic acid+hydroxylamine→ catechol → maleic → small molecule organic acid+carbon dioxide+water.
