Abstract

<p>Partendo dall’analisi della situazione della Savoia, e allargando il confronto anche ad altre aree delle Alpi occidentali, il contributo analizza le relazioni tra i condizionamenti dell’ambiente, le caratteristiche dell’habitat e le istituzioni di inquadramento religioso (pievi, parrocchie cappelle). Il quadro proposto è caratterizzato da una evoluzione lenta, anche se non dall’immobilismo. Solo alla fine del medioevo, nel quadro del consolidamento dello stato principesco, prende l’abbrivo la capillarizzazione dell’istituzione parrocchiale, che caratterizza poi l’età moderna.</p><p>Starting from the analysis of the Savoia area and extending the comparison to other western Alps regions, the study investigates into the relationships between the environment impact, the habitat characteristics and religious institutions (parishes, chapels, etc.). The framework is characterised, if not by static, by a slow growth. Only at the end of the Middle Age, in the background of the strengthening of the Prince State, the capillary rise of parishes institution – which defined the modern age - gathered way.</p>
