Fertility is the physiological capacity of a woman, a man or a couple to produce a living child. There are multiple factors that can interfere in this complex process. Diabetes mellitus - as a chronic disease that affects metabolism - can alter this process in its different stages. In the following review, we analyze the existing evidence on the different aspects that relate diabetes to alterations in female fertility.
