ABSTRACTInfective endocarditis caused by Neisseria macacae in humans is extremely rare. We presented here a case of N. macacae infective endocarditis in a 61-year-old man with a native aortic valve infection. N. macacae was isolated from blood culture and was detected by nanopore-based metagenomic sequencing in the vegetations. Finally, the patient recovered completely after surgery and antibiotic therapy.
