The main aim of this study is to analyze the works of "Turgut Reis" of Cevat Şakir, known as Halikarnas Balıkçısı, and "L'Egyptienne" of Egyptian writer Gilbert Sinoué, through the concept of historical novel. The authors have written these works in XXth century and emphasized the places in their works which are the basis of their own past. They have presented the importance of places to us through a historical section based on actual events that actually occurred in a ctional or non ctional world. In addition to the historical novel approach, the main point of our work is the "power" image that can be seen in both romans, and the reection of this image in the works. In addition to this "power" image, along with the concept of reality and ctional style, were analyzed the concept of time and space. The aim of this article is to study "L'Egyptienne" of the Egyptian writer Gilbert Sinoué and "Turgut Reis" by Cevat Şakir through the historical novel concept, to emphasize the relationship between history and literature in a general framework, and to the reinterpretation of history through literature.
