El escenario actual de la alimentación en México = The actual scene of the feeding in Mexico
Abstract
The food sovereignty and the food safety in Mexico are affected by multiple factors, mainly the global market. Population is growing and croplands are being increasingly used for biofuel production instead of food production for human consumption. On the other hand the agreements of free trade have not improved the living conditions of the peasants. On the contrary they have generated greater economic inequality and exclusion from participation in the market. In addition, the public policy programs designed to counteract the problems of food supply caused by the market have not included social participation strategies. This paper analyzes the current situation of food in Mexico and their precarious situation mainly associated to the current neoliberal economic system in which power today represents only a big business
