EvaluationoftheSurfaceRoughnessofTitaniumDiscsafterIrradiationofDiode810,Diode980andEr:YAGLasers
Abstract
Theaimofthisstudywastoinvestigatetheeffectoftwotypesofdiodelaserswithwavelengths980nmand810nmandEr:YAGlaseronthelevelofsurfaceroughnessofSandblasted,largegrit,acid-etched(SLA)titaniumdiscs.Materials&Methods:Inthisinvitroexperimentalstudy,inthe2017-2018yearsattheresearchcenterofProfessorTarabinejadandthecentrallaboratoryofIsfahanUniversity,17SLAtitaniumdiscswithadiameterof2.5andaheightof2mmwereused.Thesamplesweredividedintothreegroupsoffiveforthreelasersandonegroupoftwoasthecontrolgroup.ThefirstgroupwasirradiatedwithEr:YAGlaser,thesecondgroupwithdiodelaser810nm,andthethirdgroupwithdiodelaser980nm;andnointerventionwasdoneforthecontrolgroup.ThesurfaceroughnesswastheninvestigatedusinganSPMmicroscopeandRaandRqparameters.Theobtaineddatawerecomparedusingoneanalysisofvariance(ANOVA)andTukey'spost-hoctest.Thesignificancelevelwassetatα=0.05.Results:AnalysisoftheobtaineddatashowedthattherewasnostatisticallysignificantdifferenceinthemeanvaluesofRaandRqparametersamongfourgroups.Conclusion:Irradiationofdiodelasers810and980andalsoEr:YAG,decontaminatedtheSLAtitaniumdiscsurfaceswithoutdamage.However,additionalclinicaltrialswillbeneededtoverifytheresultsofthepresentstudy
