Heritage and Community: Rehabilitation of a Traditional Kabyle House in Achelouf, Bejaia
Abstract
This paper details the rehabilitation of a traditional Kabyle house in the village of Achelouf in Bejaia, Algeria, emphasizing its importance as part of local heritage and identity. The intervention, initiated by local associations, has involved support from CAPTERRE (the Algerian Center for Earthen Cultural Heritage) and the participation of students and local volunteers. This collaborative effort reflects the community’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage.
