Abstract

This article is the result of an examination of some eighty periodicals in Spanish published in Paris during the 19th century, preserved in the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and which, for the most part, have never really been studied. Often ephemeral, they are of a very wide variety of genres and subjects. The vast majority of them are intended for Hispanic-American readers. Within this group, El Correo de ultramar is dominant from 1842 to 1886.
