Numerical analysis of mercury transport processes in the Yarly-Amry and Chibitka rivers in the area of the Aktash Mining and Metallurgical Enterprise (Gorny Altay)

Abstract

Mercury pollution of environment relates to the most significant environmental problems of the Republic of Altay. The Aktash mercury deposit area and adjacent production plot of the former mining/metallurgical plant are the most contaminated territory due to the high level of accumulated (over the years of operation) potential environmental damage.
