THROMBOSIS OF SUPERIOR SAGITTAL SINUS (IN SPANISH)

Abstract

Introduction: thrombosis of superior sagittal sinus is responsible for 0.5% of stroke cases in the world. Stroke has a mortality rate of 10% and it is more frequent in women between the fourth and fifth decade. Clinical case report: we present a case report of a male patient, no previous medical history, which consults with headache. Computed tomography of the brain without contrast and pan-angiography allowed to realize the diagnosis of thrombosis of superior sagittal sinus. Treatment with anticoagulants, was started with a satisfactory outcome. Conclusion: thrombosis of superior sagittal sinus is a difficult diagnosis.
