Internet Discourse: the Main Genres and Specific Ways of Their Research

Abstract

Internet communication, thanks to its interactivity, the effect of presence and information fullness and also due to the use of network navigation exceeds other means of communication by providing great communication opportunities. The Internet development is followed by formation of the certain norms and requirements of both linguistic, and extralinguistic character connected with the organization and structuring of the Internet space. In this paper such main genres of an Internet discourse as e-mail, chat, forum (virtual conference), blog, social networks are marked out; their specific properties and distinctive features are revealed; the peculiarities of operation with the given genres when carrying out a linguistic research are analyzed.
