This work, still in a preliminary perspective, tried to capture as cities and populations marajoaras fields and forests experienced the Belle Époque Amazon in the last three decades of the nineteenth century. To achieve this central objective was investigated in encyclopedias, journals travelers, official reports of the government of the State of Pará, albums municipal newsletters and Goeldi Museum of Pará newspaper O Liberal (1870-1875). The theoretical and methodological basis takes as references Cultural Studies in dialogue with the museum and heritage studies. As a result it was found that a different process narrator in the specialized literature on the Amazon Belle Époque, when you point the modernization and urbanization of the cities of Belém and Manaus as two of its important features. Although municipalitiesmarajoaras have become major exporters of rubber for homes aviators of Bethlehem, one can say that these riches were not translated in the economic improvement of urban infrastructure in cities.
