DEMOGRAPHICAL POLICY, LIVE BIRTHS MECHANISM AND ROMANIAN SOCIETY
Abstract
Confronted with more than two decades of fertility decline, the Romanian government decided to take actions to help the population to accept the new tide of expenses due to a new child in the family. In the actual socio-economic context, the new supplements of both income and time, influence the decision-making process regarding the potential increase of family members. Without stopping the decline of natural increase of the Romanian population, the implementation of new policies altered the mechanism of live-births and their structure which made up a new pattern of live-births in Romania. This paper reveals the characteristics of the new mechanism of live-births and their structure as well as the new features of fertility in Romania under the auspices of these new laws. The unexpected effects upon the structure of society will influence the management of future society issues. Pointing the attention on the becoming structure of society with which it has to cope for the first time in its history has a social, economic and political value
