Substitution Efficiency Test of CH3127I Photoelectric Method for Traditional Radioactive CH3131I Method
Abstract
Iodine adsorber is a purification and adsorption functional unit for possible radioactive iodine in the ventilation system of nuclear power plant. In order to ensure its functional availability, the adsorption performance efficiency test should be conducted every year. At present, the mainstream tracer used in the test is CH3131I and no unmanned automation has been realized, which has the risk of radioactive contamination to the test personnel and the environment. In order to realize the safety of the test in essence, this paper attempts to use non-radioactive CH3127I, which has almost the same physical and chemical properties as CH3131I, as the test tracer to replace the iodine efficiency test of the iodine adsorber. A large number of test data are compared to explore the result gap between the two tracers and the test method. Finally, the feasibility of CH3127I photoelectric method in iodine efficiency test was verified.
