The paper describes contemporary American-Polish relations and their current conditions in connection with changes in Polish politics after 2015. In the years 1989-2015 Poland’s foreign policy was active both towards its European as well as American partners. All governments till 2004 sought to Poland’s accession to NATO, which took place in 1999 and to the European Union in 2004. In the years that followed, the process of European integration continued and Poland’s position in the EU and NATO was strengthened. Poland, Germany and France jointly formed the Weimar Triangle. At the meetings of politicians from these countries, European politics was discussed and efforts were made to find solutions to existing problems. At the initiative of Poland and Sweden, Eastern Partnership was also active in assisting the countries of Eastern Europe in the construction of democratic processes. The change of the country’s foreign policy took place after the 2015 elections. Currently, the policy pursued is isolating Poland in the EU due to the conflicts surrounding non-democratic changes made by ruling PiS (party of Law and Justice) politicians. It can be argued that Poland is currently in conflict with the EU and is trying to maintain good relations with the US.
