One of the most important changes happening in the village where Pietruszka family lives, is a construction of a modern road. The road, dividing the village into two parts, causes adverse changes; by dividing the village it divides people and animals as well. Close to the modern road in the village described by W. Myśliwski, still exist traditional rural routes, connected to local customs and beliefs. Creating this opposing relation, the writer uses many stylistic devices that are the subject of the following analysis.
