Data Usability of Book Rating Scores on Social Reading Platform from the Perspective of Altmetrics Evaluation: A Case Study of Douban Reading
Abstract
[Purpose/Significance] Analyzing the correlation between book citations and book rating score on Douban reading platform, this paper explores the usability of book rating data on social reading platform as Altmetrics evaluation indicators for academic books. [Method/Process] The citation number and Douban rating data of each category books were obtained respectively. The coefficient of Pearson correlation and Spearman correlation were calculated, and the correlation coefficient between the citations of different categories books and the Douban rating score was used to reveal the usability of the rating data of books on the social reading platforms as Altmetrics evaluation data. [Results/Conclusions] There is a certain degree of usability for Altmetrics evaluation in the scores of books on social reading platforms, but there are differences in the usability of the scores of books of different categories on social reading platforms.
