Improvement of the Nutritive Value of the Rice Straw by Urea Treatment and Cereals Complementation. Four male peulh sheeps were used in series of experimentation. In the first experiment, the sheeps were fed with rice straw without treatment. In the second one, the rice straw was treated with 5 % urea and in the third experiment, the urea was complemented with 50 % of maize and 50 % of sorghum. The treatment of rice straw by urea led to the significant increase of the value of crude protein from 2.58 % to 8.6 %. The urea treatment as well as the complementation with cereals led the augmentation of the consumption of dry matter, organic mater, cellulose and crude protein. The cereals complementation improve the digestibility of organic mater. However, the digestibility of cellulose was reduced. Compared to the animal that receive the plain rice straw, the treatment of the rice straw increases also with urea the energie level from 0.37 U. F to 0.45 U. F per kg of dry mater.
