Marginal space is teaching throughout the curriculum of geography in secondary school. The marginality of the spaces is often obscured or truncated, favoring socio-economic dimensions on the spatial dimension. It is not because a space is marginal that it is taught as such. Marginality raises social controversies. Marginality puts political question at the heart of school geography, which does not correspond to the dominant teaching practices. Teaching margins is a challenge for citizenship education. The question then is how to deal with in geography education.
