Abstract

In this comment on David I. Fand’s “High Interest Rates and Inflation in the U.S.: Cause or Effect”, the author argues that it is difficult to accept Fand’s explanation of the role of expectations with regard to interest rate changes, especially in light of price level changes in years 1955-64.
