Abstract

Morality and technology. The case of human enhancement The purpose of this paper is to probe the moral implications of human enhancements. According to a generally accepted thesis, enhancements are not only morally neutral, but a number of characteristics (naturalness, efficacy, improvement, etc.) make them acceptable and exempt them from any criticism or differentiation. Some philosophers of technology, on the other hand, have developed analyses that represent important insights to criticize their supposed moral neutrality. Building on their theses would make it possible to draw a dividing line between enhancements that are positive and acceptable and enhancements that are harmful and refutable.
