The article reconstructs the conditions of hospitality of African poetic works written in Portuguese in 1960s Italy. The aim is to investigate the role of connecting-personalities and/or translators, such as Joyce Lussu, Giuseppe Tavani and Pier Paolo Pasolini and the paratextual and contextual elements of the hosted works. The intellectual intermediation by the Angolan Mário Pinto de Andrade also contributed significantly to the publication of these anticolonial poetry collections.
