ENVY, RESPECT AND WITCHCRAFT AROUND TO NAHUA HARP OF HUASTECA POTOSINA AND BETWEEN TEENEK OF VERACRUZ
Abstract
Some indigenous cultures of Mexico hold various ritual practices where an animistic perception of the world is seen. This article will review some of them to unravel a system of thought that links moral values with the use and meaning of objects, emphasizing musical instruments. This will lead to an articulated conception between values and healing practices, related to both the gifts it can give natural elements such as the use of objects, constructed by humans, duly ritualized, to achieve communication with human being that can affect health. This research will resume work previously performed in the Huasteca to finally determine in the fieldwork among the Nahua of the Huasteca potosina if there are differences in conceptions related with envy, respect and witchcraft between Nahua and Teenek, showing in turn, the cultural supports of ethical evaluation and its relationship with animistic forces that includes the harp, in which their ritual conception is immersed.
