¿Automanejo,autocuidado o autocontrol en enfermedades crónicas?: Acercamiento a su análisis e interpretación Self-management,self-care or self-control in chronic diseases?: Approach to their analysis and interpretation
Abstract
En el 2002, la Organización Mundial de la Salud reconoció que el automanejo era la piedra angular en la atención a pacientes con enfermedades crónicas;sin embargo,este concepto ha sido polémico,incluso en los mismos países donde se creó,pues se confude y traduce indistintamente como autocuidado,autocontrol,autogestión,autotratamiento o autoayuda. En este artículo, además de ello ,se valoran aspectos relacionados con las frases educación al paciente crónico,educación de automanejo y apoyo al automanejo, también intercambiables.In 2002, the World Health Organization recognized that the self-management was the cornerstone in the medical care of patients with chronic diseases. However, this concept has been polemic, even in the same countries where it was created, because it is mistaken for and translated as self-care, self-control, self-management, self-treatment or self-help. Moreover, aspects related to terms such as education to the chronic patient, self-management education and support for the self-management, also interchangeable, are also valued.
