Pedagoška funkcija legend<br>Educational Function in Tales with Christian Content</br>

Abstract

This article discusses functions of folklore that are evident in Slovenian tales with Christian content. The analysis refers to the collection of 155 written Slovenian legends of St. Peter, collected on the Slovenian ethnic territory. In the collected material, the educational/pedagogical function is emphasised, although it is intertwined with other functions, especially with that of maintaining subordination to accepted patterns of behaviour.
