As the most critical and core part of the aircraft, the aero-engine has been serving in extreme environ-ment such as high temperature and high load for a long time. Fatigue failure is one of the main causes of engine structure failure. With the development of industry, the problem of very high cycle fatigue(VHCF) of aero-engine materials becomes increasingly prominent. This paper summarizes the research status of VHCF of typical engine materials and describes the application situation of VHCF test technology. Including very high cycle axial vibration fatigue, bending vibration fatigue, torsional vibration fatigue, composite vibration fatigue test loading technology,temperature control technology and damage monitoring technology, the development of ultra-high cycle fatigue test technology for typical aero-engine materials in China is also prospected.
