Safety and Personal Protection in Workers in Babol Health Center
Abstract
Background and Aims: With regard to the importance of labors health , it is necessary to assesshazardous factors in workplace to identify them and finding solution in order to prevent injuriesthat threaten workers in workplace.Method: This descriptive cross-sectional and analytical study was performed on 74 workers (14females and 60 males). Data were collected by observation and interviewing with all labors whowork in domestic and non domestic factories under control of Soltan Mohammad Taher healthcenter in Babol. Variables in this study were included physical, chemical, ergonomic and biologichazard factors.Results: Workers exposure to inappropriate sound, vibrancy, brightness, temperature andhumidity were 41.89%, 6.75%, 6.75% and 17.56% respectively. Those exposure to rays, dust, gasand vapor, smoke were 20.27%, 54% 9.45% 14.86% respectively. Inappropriate body postureduring working and unsuitable tools was 79.72%, 20.27% respectively. 6.75% of them encounterwith harmful biologic agents .The main causes of non considering of health and safety points werefinancial problems (94.4% ), not accessibility to these equipment ( 41.1% ) , lack of goodequipment on the market (53.1% ) ,belief in these equipment are useless (12%) , lack of knowledgeabout kind of appropriate equipments (18.2% ) and etc (3% ) .Conclusion:With providing financial facilities and education workplace safety and health wecan reach to expected standard and safety.
