The objective of this paper is to reflect on contemporary poetry as forming communities and object of political resistance in the narratives of the Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño. I propose an intertextual relationship with the conferences of the German writer WG Sebald, titled "Air War and Literature", which addresses the destruction of German cities during World War II and the memory work of literature after the war. In the novel "Estrela distante", Roberto Bolaño includes a character who writes poems in the sky, using the smoke from his plane. From these images the aim is to question the relationship of memory with writing poetry in contemporary times.
