The presence of the White-tailed Sea-eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla L.) in Romania, especially in Dobrogea, identified in the ornithological literature: a bibliographical review

We identified 222 published papers on the subject of White-tailed Sea-eagle in Romania. We devided them according to the time scale. From the period 1726 -1898 we identified 6 papers; between 1912 – 1940, 22 papers, between 1944 – 1964, 15 papers, between 1965 – 1990, 53 papers and after 1991 until now, we found 126 scientific papers containing information regarding Halliaeetus albicilla (Linnaeus,1758). The purpose of the scientific literature collection regarding this umbrella species is to better understand the spatial distribution of the species in Romania, as to ensure better management for the areas where the species is present
