The scenario changes, but the scene stays the same...: considerations on the 2004 electoral process for mayor in Campos dos Goytacazes
Abstract
This essay results from the research being developed at UCAM Campos with financial support from FAPERJ. It has two objectives. First, to analyze the mechanisms and political formulas that led to the annulment of the 2004 election’s result adopted by the two major political groups originated in the same political machine organized and strongly controlled by Anthony Garotinho for two decades. The other goal is to examine the conditions that allow us to predict the continuity of the scenario, the forms of domination and policy making which have characterized local politics since the creation of that political class.
