Repeated Reading Technique to Improve Reading Fluency in Children with Intellectual Disabilities

Children with intellectual disabilities have reading problems that need to be considered and handled effectively. Therefore, intervention is needed to help children with intellectual disabilities improve their reading fluency. This case report aims to test the effectiveness of repeated reading techniques in children with intellectual disabilities to improve reading fluency. Assessments were conducted through observation, interviews, and psychological tests. The results of the intervention conducted during 15 sessions showed an increase in reading fluency in children with intellectual disabilities. In addition, children's self-confidence increased along with increased reading fluency.
