Since 2010, Cameroon has been facing an unstable political and military situation: within its borders, social protests persist; outside its borders, the army has been fighting against the Boko Haram terrorist organization. Moreover, the economic situation is fragile. To conduct regional planning actions, the government has called on several actors, including the military engineering corps. How does the deployment of military engineers meet regional planning needs and the challenges associated with population control in areas that challenge the central political power? The methodology adopted in this study is the qualitative approach based on interviews. This article highlights that military engineering has become an actor of regional planning, while exerting a political control in districts hostile to Cameroon’s government.
