The psychological and pedagogical literature has been analyzed in the article. The literature is devoted to the problem of peculiarities of junior pupils’ moral qualities formation. It is found out that at the present stage of formation of the psychological and pedagogical theory of education there is no possibility of purposeful formation of a morally developed personality, for which the moral and ethical priorities adopted by society would acquire the meaning of life and act as regulators of moral behavior. The involvement of junior pupils to moral activities and interpersonal communication connected with it are noted to be the main condition for the development of moral qualities. It is determined that the formation of moral qualities consists in a system of moral and ethical exercises, which include: ethical conversations, story-role games, play situations that include moral content, ending stories with moral content, system of training lessons. It is shown that the success of the use of these methods largely depends on the general and special principles of moral development of the personality, the sequence and systematic analysis of content concepts, moral situations, personal and other actions by respondents, expanding of the experience of moral behavior. Compliance with the requirements for the content and organization of psycho-correction work is found out to be a prerequisite for their use. The results of the general assessment of awareness and understanding of the content of moral categories by pupils of the control and experimental groups show that during the psycho-correction lessons, the most positive changes were received by the respondents of the experimental group in relation to the moral category of «kindness», and the least – in the moral category of «sensitivity». At the same time, minor changes are observed in the control group.
