In this study, diameter distributions of pure and natural Crimean Pine (Pinus nigra subsp. pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe) stands distributed in three different ecoregions within Kastamonu and Sinop Regional Directorates were examined and modeled. Data from 274 sample plots were used as study material. Diameter distributions of Crimean pine stands were modeled and for this purpose, parameter estimates for five different probability density functions (Johnson SB, Gamma-2p, Gamma-3p, Weibull-2p and Weibull-3p) were made for each sample plot. The relative success rankings of the probability density functions for which parameter estimates were made for each sample area were averaged and examined separately for three different ecoregions. Among the probability density functions compared according to the error criteria KS, AD, X2 and e, the Johnson SB function was found to be quite successful for all ecoregions.
