Research Progress on Dry Running of Helicopter Gear Transmission System
Abstract
The stability of the transmission system is directly related to the survivability of the helicopter. The failure of lubrication system under the condition of war injury will accelerate the damage of gear surface and destroy the dry running condition. The dry running capability of the gear has become an important factor to evaluate modern helicopters. The research status of dry running thermal analysis of gear transmission system is reviewed. The current studies on improving the dry running capability of the gear transmission system are reviewed from the aspects of gear surface modification, coating, surface texture treatment, the design of transmission and lubrication systems, and the corresponding experiments. The application status of these methods is summarized to provide reference for the research and development in this field.
