LINGUISTIC PERSONALITY UNDER FORMATION AS AN OBJECT OF IDENTIFICATIONAL LINGUOPERSONOLOGY
Abstract
The subject of the research is a phonetic portrait of the 5–7-grade pupils, giving an idea of teenagers’ collective linguistic personality in a provincial town. The presented features are defined and shown as tendencies in taking or using certain linguistic units at both the verbal and semantic levels as well as certain mechanisms of choosing words at the cognitive level. Our observations have an empirical character as we have tried to pinpoint the most widespread phenomena that therefore seem self-evident. Purpose. To analyse the features of younger teenagers’ oral spontaneous speech. Research methods: the descriptive method and the method of contextual analysis. Results. The study showed that the collective personality of teenage schoolchildren is characterized by peculiarities in the use of segmented language unit, i.e., indistinct articulation of vowels and consonants, which leads to the loss of certain sounds (in some cases, truncation of whole syllables), and, consequently, to deformation of speech. When describing supersegmental units it turned out that there is a typical use of a wide range of intonation types, pace, their choice being determined by the communication situation. The analysis of compliance of schoolchildren’s speech with orphoepic norms showed frequent cases of deviation from codified variants, which is connected with the schoolchildren’s usual speech practice and influence of the speech environment.
