Abstract
Today images play a major role in digital culture and practices, particularly in everyday exchanges. I develop an ethno-semiotic approach as part of a survey on digital practices of the Indochine’s music band fans to analyze how users produce, appropriate and share photos. It further allows me to investigate how the fans develop social interactions among themselves in such productions. The article highlights the challenges of this method. First I show the purposes and relevance of a digital ethnography. Then I suggest an approach applied to the analysis of digital practices and lastly, I present the methodological choices made for this case study.
