Electrospun nanofibers have been identified for their outstanding capability in advancing biomedical applications focused on enhancing human well-being, consequently leading to a significant transformation in healthcare. The electrospinning technique is remarkably straightforward to implement and has facilitated the fabrication of structures possessing unique and highly advantageous properties encompassing a wide variety of applications. This review examines electrospinning technology, recent improvements aimed at increasing nanofiber yield, and the fabrication methods used to achieve these enhancements. It highlights the properties of various polymers used in electrospinning, along with their biocompatibility and bioactivity. This article also underscores the contribution of electrospun polymeric nanofibers in the biomedical domain while shedding light on present difficulties, like issues tied to scalability, reproducibility, and compliance with regulations. Prospective advancements encompass developments in material science, harmonization with emerging technologies, and innovative applications that could amplify their influence on healthcare outcomes. By providing a comprehensive analysis, this paper emphasizes the groundbreaking impact of electrospun nanofibers in health sciences and their ability to substantially advance healthcare advancements.
