Man's life style undergoes in today's world significant changes within political systems, economy and social life. But changes concern also the content of leisure time and the way it is spent. European Union and, further to it, the Czech Republic have been creating legislative frame as well as economic and personal conditions in order to enable changes in the field of leisure time. A growing number of colleges and universities have lately been introducing curricula in the field of recreology (recreation and leisure time). Recreology (the Latin recreare + logos) is conceived as a theoretical discipline exploring general recreation-related problems and, more precisely, problems related to the renewal of human energy. Our approach is based on the presumption that development and improvement is sought on one side and effort to prevent losses is strived for on the other. This work talks about systemic approach to recreology in frame of socio-cultural kin anthropology. Within its hierarchy, we conceive recreology as a subsystem of socio-cultural kin anthropology, the organization of which is, however, independent (it is a science field, curriculum and a subject of study).
