The producer of the film Metropolis, directed by Fritz Lang in 1927, used three great set designers so that, through their drawings, give way to the undisputed star of the film architecture. An architecture with large architectural and urban influences that left no one indifferent. In this article we focus on the analysis of the first drawings presented these set designers, their translation into the sets, demonstrating that these are more than just a scenic background and the impact generated not only in the coming architecture but also in the image of the city of the future that cinema might bring us later.
