In the life and works of Leonardo, drawings and paintings, the female element appears in a great variety of roles. The “mother” (from whom he was separated early) is the center of feelings of affection, joy, prophetic fear of the future. The “beautiful lady” appears in innovative and charismatic portraits, with Mona Lisa at the top. The female reproductive system is studied in anatomical drawings, which investigate the mystery of life in the womb.
